The Oxjam Takeover is returning to Glasgow on Sunday the 20th of October and is shaping up to be as great as ever.
Oxjam is a month-long music festival, which takes place in cities all across the UK in October and raises money for the charity Oxfam. The festival started in 2006 and since then has raised over £1.5 million for Oxfam.
This year’s Oxjam Glasgow Takeover event will be held on the Sunday the 20th of October over multiple venues, which include Nice ‘N’ Sleazy, Art School and Broadcast with more to be confirmed nearer the time. Each venue will host a number of local music acts, showcasing some of the amazing musical talent Glasgow has to offer with the likes of Forest Fires, Galleries, Alavano and Selective Service taking the stage, among many others.
This year, Broadcast will be host to a family friendly event with music and activities from 2 until 6pm. While evening entertainment will run from 7 until 11pm, which will also host great music and further fundraising activities.
The 2013 Glasgow Takeover team of volunteers are working hard, putting the final details into place to make this years festival a success and urge people to follow them on Facebook to keep up to date on all the event information and news of Oxjam’s fundraising efforts.
