Welcome to Get Out Glasgow (GOG to its friends.) Consider this a call to arms for the couch potatoes of Glasgow to get out of their seats and appreciate what this incredible, varied city has to offer in the way of bars, restaurants, gigs, events, photography and so much more!
We genuinely feel that Glasgow lacks the kind of honest, unbiased blogging culture which is prominent in so many large cities around the world, and we would love to play a part in stimulating that. The city has such a unique sense of humour and so much to say for itself - people should be talking about it!
There are a few good Glasgow blogs already out there1 which we love to read regularly, but these are so few and far between and don’t get anywhere near the readership they deserve. What we hope to do a bit differently is welcome quality contributions from effectively anyone, anywhere to get a really diverse range of content, examining all aspects of this beautiful city which we call home. Naturally everything can’t make it onto the website, but if your attempt contains even a vague smattering of interesting content or potential for discussion, we will be very pleased to edit it up to publishable quality for posting. For more information on how to get seriously involved, head over to our Feature/Contribute page. Even if you’re not planning to contribute, we hope you’ll read and enjoy our posts, and get involved in a bit of a discussion of our articles in the comments section below.
Our love of Glasgow as a city and our genuine belief in the quality of local journalism that’s out there has us filled with a great deal of confidence and enthusiasm about the future of GOG, and we really hope you’ll jump on board and enjoy the ride with us. To keep up to date with the latest posts and happenings, you can follow us on Twitter or subscribe via RSS if that’s more your thing.
So, what are you waiting for? GET OUT GLASGOW! And let us know - do you currently read any blogs to keep up to date with what’s going on locally? If so, which?
