Olympus “Fall” Photography Event In Town This Saturday

One for the budding photographers this weekend, as Olympus Cameras take over South Block (no, I hadn’t heard of it either - it’s down behind St Enoch Centre apparently) with their “Celebration of Fall” event.

It’s a drop-in event, and the Olympus team will be on hand with their brand new camera and lens range for members of the public to take them for a spin. Their new flagship camera, the “OM-D EM-1″, is yet to be released, and the event will give anyone dropping by the chance to take some amazing shots using this new range.

Not only can you get your hands on some amazing new gear, but they’ll also be running two free photography masterclasses with renowned Scottish photographer Neil Buchan-Grant, offering those who sign up on the Olympus website the chance to learn some tips and tricks on how to work with your subject and take a different approach to your own photography.

The event, as the title suggests, revolves around the theme of “Fall”. As much as the knee-jerk reaction is to say “HAWL, MATE, IT’S CALLED AUTUMN HERE!”, they’re specifically using the world Fall, as they’re trying to get attendees to explore a more layered definition of the word. Whatever the theme means to you, Buchan-Grant will be on hand to help you capture it. Participants are invited to bring their own camera and get ready to snap some terrific shots.

Another nice wee perk, is that all attendees will receive a free SD card for use on arrival, as well as the chance to win an Olympus camera by submitting their ‘Fall’ themed photos to
OlympusImpressions.com.

The event takes place on Saturday the 2nd of November from 12noon to 5pm in South Block, 50-68 Osborne Street, Glasgow, G1 5QH. To take part in the Neil Buchan-Grant masterclass, be sure to sign up via the website before going along as places are strictly limited.
