What’s On: KILTR Street Food Festival (Winter 2013)

KILTR Street Feastival Winter 2013We first covered the OFFKiltr Street Feastival back in July of this year, and since then that post is positively inundated with Google traffic every time anything remotely street food related rolls into town. So instead of letting everyone pick at scraps of outdated information, we thought we’d better start covering this increasingly popular event on a more regular basis!

Coming to Barras Art and Design Centre on Friday 29th November (5pm - 11pm), Saturday 30th November (1pm - 11pm) and Sunday 1st December (1pm - 11pm), this third edition of the popular event aims to “provide Glasgow with a long-awaited and exciting pop-up experience, bringing a carefully hand-picked selection of street food, culture and styles under one roof for three days and nights this winter.” You can expect it to bring much more of the same high quality street food in a convivial, carnivalesque atmosphere with music from top local DJs to round off the entertainment.

This time around the Feastival will include a selection of top Glasgow culinary institutions alongside some impressive new kids on the block including Smokey & The Bandit, Harajuku Kitchen, Breaking Bread, Roast, So La Ti Dough, Smoak and Habibi Kitchen. To compliment the food there will be an exciting range of pop-up bar offerings with a tipple for everyone including the delicious Heverlee Belgian Beer, who are sponsors of the event. The on-site “winter wonderland” will boast comforting classics such as mulled wine and mulled cider, and why not finish off your meal in style with a selection of coffees and chocolates from the likes of Dear Green Coffee Roasters and Nucoco Chocolate.

The soundtrack will be provided by a team of well known local DJs playing festive tunes from around the world, including Chef De Party, Racket Racket, PVK, David Barbarossa, Hectorrr, Rebecca Vasmant and Bobby Cleaver.

Entry to the Feastival is free for KILTR users, just show them your profile at the door. Otherwise, pay 2 quid when you get there - well worth it either way!

Let us know in the comments below if you’ve been to any of the previous Feastivals, or if you’re heading along to this one! To keep up to date with the latest details of this Feastival, head over to the official KILTR group for the event.
