At a Glance: A Quiet Night In

This Saturday sees mini-festival A Quiet Night In descend upon Sauchiehall Street, occupying four of the city’s top venues.

The Art School, O2 ABC, Nice N Sleazy and Broadcast will host no less than 17 bands in a celebration of what the organisers describe as the “pure booming” live music scene here in Scotland.

Music fans can expect anything but a quiet night in, with a rare selection of powerhouse live acts. There’ll be electro-tinged rock from Song of Return (featuring members of Union of Knives, Admiral Fallow and Otherpeople) and dance-inducing synths from Machines In Heaven (garnering praise from as far afield as the USA’s top music industry publication, Billboard), as well as heavy-hitting sets from Bear Arms (recipients of this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Award for Best Metal Act) and post-rock instrumentalists Vasa.

Throw in a free after-party at Flat 0/1 on Bath Street, and you’ve got yourself a pretty wild night out. Not bad for £10!

Tickets are available from the O2 ABC Box Office or online at www.ticketweb.co.uk; the first acts kick off around 6:30-7:00pm.
